With the introduction of our new range of cabinets with variable back, we only use best quality baltic birch. The wood comes from Poland, a relatively nearby region, and is 100% PEFC certified. The raw materials market has been somewhat tense in recent years, but the situation has improved again in the meantime, so this was an obvious decision for us.
Although most of the work we put into our amplifiers and cabinets is done by hand, we embrace technology whenever it delivers the most accurate result and thus the best quality. The box joints for the cabinet body are manufactured using a CNC router, which delivers maximum precision and constant results. Nevertheless, such a tool is still guided by hand. Box joints or dovetails joints have no impact on the sound of the cabinet, but they offer the best stability and durability.
The baffle in which the speakers are mounted is made with a CNC milling machine. This way, the cut-outs and mounting holes for the speakers are absolutely accurate. Further woodwork like edge routing, sanding, gluing and assembly is all done by hand. Whenever possible, we are using hardware made from stainless steel (screws) or nickel plated brass (fittings). The glue for the tolex is water-based and is nearly odorless.
