Excelsior Guitar Amplifier

Here is an exciting new creation from Three Bananas Amps. Everyone looking for a compact all-tube single channel guitar amplifier for bedroom, rehearsal, stage and studio, this is it: Excelsior Deluxe. Excelsior Deluxe offers pristine clean sounds, a perfect pedal platform plus an exclusively designed spring reverb and tremolo.

We have taken the much-loved clean channel from Galaktopus, tweaked it for the legendary 5751 tube and added a variable mid control. The master volume and slightly modified power amp section that is already doing a tremendous job in Beausonic is the perfect match. Turn the volume down to bedroom level with the twist of a knob while preserving your tone. On demand, you still get 35W if required.

The power amp runs on auto-bias, so changing your power tubes does not require bias adjustments. Power tubes of type EL34 or 6L6GC (incl. 5881WXT) can be used without further adjustments. The power supply has been specially designed using highest quality silicon diodes for tight low and sweet top end.

Like with any Three Bananas Amp, you can adjust the dynamics of the amp to your taste, and like all our amplifiers, Excelsior Deluxe has outstanding transient response.

We always wanted to design our own reverb circuit and with Excelsior Deluxe a dream is coming true. The drive circuit based on a 12BH7 allows to saturate the reverb signal into a rich reverb tail that can be shaped further via a 3-pos tone switch. Finally, a lush tube-based tremolo rounds off the whole package. Both effects can be engaged via footswitch and also on the front panel. With both control options, an LED is indicating the status on the front panel.

Our guitar amplifiers are engineered and made in Germany, built with selected components of highest quality. We are using a turret hybrid design for the main board that combines traditional, puristic and maintenance friendly construction for the main audio flow with modern integration of auxiliary circuitry like channel switching and indication.
